Nice is a town in the south of France along the Mediterranean. With its beautiful blue sky, cobalt colored sea and exquisite resorts, Nice is truly a sparkling jewel along the aptly named Azure Coast. The winding streets running through the old town shows the many faces that Nice has to offer.

As stated above, Nice is home to many museums including, but not limited to the Chagall and Matisse museums. There is no shortage of music either with plenty of Operas, live bands and jazz bands. You are not just limited to museums, concerts or even Nice itself! Just next door is Cannes, home to the famous international film festival as well as Eze, a beautiful area filled with small quaint villages.

There are various tours of Nice, all offering you the chance to get to know the town and get a real feel for where everything is.

Known as the “English Promenade,” it is a 3.5km walkway along the beach and is never void of people. For the athlete in you, it is a great place to jog, ride a bike, or roller-blade.

Old Nice, or Old Town has several wonderful amenities including the Opera, city hall, churches and friendly local bars. It has a different feeling from the Promenade des Anglais because it shows the “real face” of Nice. It also hosts the morning market; a great place to pick up local fruits, vegetables and flowers from Tuesdays through Sundays, and cute little knick-knacks every Monday morning.

The top of the Chateau offers the best view of Nice. Long ago, it was a castle but has been turned into a public park. It’s got a lot of stairs so is great for the jogger in you, and if you are looking for any football/soccer games, you can usually find them a top the Chateau.
